Quarterly Meeting Minutes July 23, 2011
Meeting called to Order by President Ronald Morris at 11:30AM
Officers and Board of Directors present: Ronald Morris-President, Ester Clements-Vice-President (West Central), and Anita Savage-Treasurer (Northwest), Dean Lawson- East Central
Absent: Ann Bryles-Secretary, Casey Wells-Northeast, Angela Smith-Southwest, David Forest-Southeast
Members Present: Jack Black, Jesse Duckett, Scott Hawthorn, Francis Johnson, Ron LaRue, Rustin & Kim McCormick, Kim Morris
Anita Savage read the financial reports. Motion to accept financial reports as read by Ester Clements seconded by Scott Hawthorne. Motion carried.
Guest Speaker: David Hernandez with the UAPB. Mr. Hernandez is researching co-raising cattle and goats. There is also a study kidding two times a year involving extra light on short days with the bucks. He highlighted the different nutritional requirements for the stages of growth, development, nursing, kidding, etc. He emphasized the need for FAMACHA training, good record keeping and reproductive management.

Discussion for Judges for the ABW Little Rock - Motion made by Ester Clements for Joe Teel to judge with alternate Josh Taylor, Larry Epting, and Kyle Strickland. Seconded by Scott Hawthorn. Motion Carried
Discussion on Paid Back for ABW Show Little Rock-Members would like to pay further down in classes, discussion on prizes for Grand and Reserve. Motion made by Ester Clements for the ABW committee to meet and bring back to the board of Director Recommendations on class paid back, and prizes for Grand and Reserve. Seconded by Anita Savage.
