ABW SANCTION SHOW RULES


  1. A sanctioned show is open to all youth 18 years and younger by 1/1/11. With the exception of some shows that have a set age limit.
  2. Show management will be responsible for keeping accurate records of their show placing. They will also be responsible for submitting the information to the ArMGA points administer. Show summary needs to receive within 15 working days. Information that needs included is scrapie tag number, ABW tag number, exhibitors name, class number and placing. 
  3. A fee of  $20 will be charged to sanction the show. The fee can be sent when show results are turned in.
  4. Exhibitors must own and show their owns animals. If an exhibitor has two entries in one class, they can have another exhibitor to show the other animal.
  5. Wethers will be broken down into weight classes. There is no limit of animals for each exhibitor unless stated by the show committee that there is a limit of entries.
  6. Animals must have scrapie tags and ABW tags intact in their ears before arriving on the show grounds.
  7. All market wethers must have their baby teeth intact and will be checked at weigh in by an ArMGA representative and the show management. The ArMGA representative and and show management ruling will stand on these matters.
  8. All wethers must be clipped to 3/8 inch or less above the knees. It is recommended that wethers be dehorned but is not mandatory. Wethers with horns must be blunt tipped.
  9. The Arkansas Meat Goat Association is not responsible or liable for any animals, persons or personal property.
  10. The judges ruling will be final.
  11. There will need to be an ArMGA board of director, ABW committee member, or officer present at the show.
  12. ArMGA will need to be notified 4 weeks before the show requesting sanctioning for the 2011 show season.  Where arrangements can be made for an ArMGA representative to be present.
  13. There is no painting, powdering, or artificial coloring allowed or abuse to the animals to be tolerated prior to the show.
  14. Only wethers are eligible to receive points for the ABW show.
  15. Wethers tagged in the previous year can show in the following year as long as they still have their baby teeth. The points will start over after the State Fair ABW Show.

Points will be awarded as follows:
1st tagged ABW wether will get 5 points
2nd tagged ABW wether will get 3 points
3rd tagged wether will get 1 point
ABW tagged wether wins overall grand gets 10 bonus points
ABW tagged wether winning overall reserve grand gets 5 bonus points
Point show will end at the State Fair ABW show in October for that year
